Inspired by the folklore HIIH™s Story Stands Tall is a hand crafted kiln fired sculptural piece. Each side of this sculpture has a etched part of a representation of a story on it. The sculpture has been crafted in ceramic with love by our master artisans and wood/gas kiln fired at 1300 degrees. Each piece has been individually painted prior to glazing in shades of beige and brown . Handmade with love one piece at a time. Due to this process, there may be slight variations between products.
The story Stands Tall will look good on any table top or even between two vases.
Pottery is one of the oldest materials for sculpture, as well as clay being the medium in which many sculptures cast in metal are originally modelled for casting. Sculptors often build small preliminary works called moquette™s of ephemeral materials such as plaster of Paris, wax, unfired clay, or plasticine. Many cultures have produced pottery which combines a function as a vessel with a sculptural form, and small figurines have often been as popular as they are in modern Western culture.
The best way to display sculptures is giving them breathing room, by which we mean is, enough light and room around them to appreciate their beauty. Sculptures are essential art that is not flat. Sculptural objects do what paintings can™t by giving that third dimension. They have a richness of shadowing, and give a room visual relief.
In home decor, sculptures are a great way to express personal style and to display forms that fit one™s personality. Sculptures are not limited to the classical styles. Options include modern, whimsical, realist and minimalist works that artists have created and that one can feature in your home as focal points and accents. Blending modern with classical is common
